Week On The Web: 13 November 2022

The internet can be an overwhelming place at times. There is just so much content and it can be difficult to know what media to pay attention to and what to stay away from. I hope to share some links to content that I found interesting during the previous week, content that provoked me to deeper levels of thought and engagement.

Please note that none of these links serves as endorsements of contributors. I hate that I have to say that, but I do. You can be provoked to deeper thought - and you usually are - by someone you don’t agree with.

How Should Christians Speak in Public?

Dr Keller asks the question on what sort of posture Christians ought to engage when speaking with an increasingly post-christian culture. Thoughtful (as ever) from Keller and it profiles a very public debate around a friend of mine in Australia.

The Age of Ingratitude

Carl Trueman argues - in this unusually short piece - that the age of outrage is ultimately an age of ingratitude, and that this prevalence diminishes our ability to flourish as human beings.

A Veteran’s Day Reflection

David French writes beautifully of his experience in the armed forces. War is hell, and we do well to remember those who enter into that hell.

With or Without You

On a totally different note, I have been really enjoying Bono’s new book, Surrender. This performance of a reading from that book which leads into With or Without You was beautifully haunting.

Feel free to let me know if you read anything interesting this last week. I would love to know about it.
